How we got engaged:

Anthony proposed under palm trees during sunset on a white-sand beach in Culebra, a small island off of Puerto Rico. We had just snorkeled with some very chill sea turtles and a friendly nurse shark, which made the day extra special. We celebrated afterward with tacos and tamarind margheritas!

Where we're going on a honeymoon:

Italy! We'll start in Rome and attend an audience with Chicago's very own Pope Leo XIV, and will hopefully have our marriage blessed by him! Then we'll head to Florence and Tuscany.

How we met:

We met at a Dow Jones data journalism internship in 2019! Even though Heather was very jet-lagged from her semester in Beijing and Anthony was xyz, we stayed up late talking in her dorm room and haven't stopped since.

Favorite date:

A: Taking Heather to the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque.

H: A completely free date at the Alderman, a speakeasy cocktail bar in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. I was writing a piece for Reuters about the best places to go in Chicago, so all the drinks went on the company card.

The most memorable trip we've taken together:

H: Asides from our trip to Puerto Rico, the Canadian Rockies! Highlights were fishing in glacial streams, hiking and enjoying afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel.

A: Going to the salt flats.

The best meal we've had together:

A: I got steak and Heather got lobster mac and cheese and many palomas at Mesa Street Grill.

H: Anthony's grandmother's homemade pork tamales, which are legendary.
